It wasn't until she was featured in a newsletter for a private community in Pennsylvania that she decided to share her talent. Her focus for this book of poems is for young girls and women to know they are their own validation love themselves, know their worth, and that God loves them.

Mildred Kathy Flood was born in Orange, New Jersey. She was raised and educated in East Orange and Newark, New Jersey. She raised her five beautiful children as a single mother. Her style of art has always been an inspiration to her family and closest friends. She was forced to share her Artistry with the world by most of her family and friends, but she refused and only did it for fun and was selective of who she drew for. However, one of her nieces was very persistent and not taking no for an answer finally convinced her to share her drawings at 66 years old. The Art presented here in Know Your Worth is a reflection of young women and girls and the seasoned women who paved the way for us.
